“A physical literacy specialist has been employed for part of each week to support staff to embed planned exercises into lessons designed to develop pupils’ core strength and gross motor skills. This starts with the youngest children in order to enable them to be better able to manage the expectations of a more formal curriculum in key stage one. Individual exercise programmes have been designed for pupils for whom this need is most pressing.”

“Employing Helen has had a huge impact on our children and their all-round development. Handwriting has improved, owing to significantly greater physical skills such as wrist stability, attained through easy to implement daily routines. Helen has identified specific barriers to learning then implemented appropriate programmes to address the needs of individuals. Several children for example were unable to write with one hand and hold the paper with the other but have overcome this challenge by mastering crossing the midline and developing bi-lateral coordination.”
